BARS

SPARKLERS

  • Back hip pullover with a tight front support

  • Forward roll- finish with chin over the bar- gymnast must maintain the position and hold it for 5 seconds with legs together and tight body

  • Skin the cat on the rings

  • Floor bar squat on

BEAM

  • Releve' walks and kicks

  • Coupe walks

  • Stretch jumps on the beam and dismount

  • Pivot turns

  • Tuck jumps off a spring board

FLOOR

  • Forward roll- done well

  • Backward roll- done well

  • Bridge kickover - use a mat

  • COACHES: please focus on form for all the skills above

VAULT

  • Straight jump onto a minimum of 8 inches of mat (5-8 running steps)

  • Correct hurdle technique

  • Proper straight jump technique

  • Proper landing technique

FIRE

CRACKERS

  • Back hip circle

  • Good casts

  • Cartwheel (low or wide beam)

  • Handstand (low or wide beam)

  • Round off dismount

  • Back walkover (with light spot)

  • Round off

  • Front limber (HS hold to bridge, doesn’t have to stand up)

  • Forward roll on resi mat

  • Pike on to vault table

  • Handstand flat back on Resi mat

SKY

ROCKETS

  • Glide Kip (light spot)

  • Back hip circle

  • Stride circle

  • Front hip circle

  • Cast above horizontal

  • Jump to high bar/tap swings

  • ½ turn

  • 120 degree leap

  • Back walkover (floor beam)

  • Cartwheel handstand dismount

  • Back handspring

  • Round off back hand spring back tuck (w/ spot or solo on tumble trak)

  • Handstand walk (10 steps)

  • Front handspring

  • Front handspring with mini-tramp (light spot)

  • Handstand with board

IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOCUS AND MASTER THE BASIC SKILLS AND FOCUS ON FLEXIBILITY, STRENGTH,

AND GOOD FORM IN ORDER TO MOVE ONTO BIGGER SKILLS!
